Yeah, this is like...a day late but I had to get everything ready.

As many know I had to cancel my last contest due to the judges' lack of well...judging. So, I've decided to hold a smaller contest in light of it. Given the portfolio thing was a bust, I've decided to try something smaller but still there will be no need to create a deviation to enter the contest.

What you must do: (EVERYONE READ THESE CAREFULLY!)
1. Choose a single deviation among your gallery (It can be anything: painting, sculpture, literature, poetry, prose, photography, etc. I do mean ANYTHING.)
2. Enter your deviation via a link in a comment below
3. Answer the following questions in the 'DESCRIPTION' of your deviation (please copy and paste these questions so I know which one you're answering)
   1) What is the subject in this piece? (It can be anything or a number of things)
   2) What was your drive for creating this piece?
   3) Tell me all about how you created this deviation (no word limit)
   4) What do you like/dislike about this piece?
   5) How long did you work on this?

Rules
1. Your DeviantART account must be at least three weeks old
2. The deviation chosen must be at least 48 hours old
3. Be creative/unique. Choose a piece you believe is YOU.
4. One Deviation entry per person
5. Deadline for an entry is now updated to December 15th. People PLEASE READ the "What You Must Do"  half the entries I can't take because of competitors not following those directions, so I'm giving everyone a little more time to read over those.

PRIZES!

I'm not doing 1st, 2nd, 3rd...and all that. Instead:

There will be 3 (three) 50 :points: winners!

There will also be 5 (five) runner-ups:

One free deviation prize for each runner-up!

Qualified Entries: (These submissions meet all the criteria and are officially in the running for the prizes)

Megatronus        I would have to say it felt good to have my sworn enemy, Optimus Prime under my foot. I was going to KILL him finally, helpless under my foot as I leered down at him, so HELPLESS. I finally won after all these vorns, the last Prime under MY foot, and at MY mercy. "Why is the blood of Unicron erupting from beneath here?" Optimus asked from beneath my foot, weakly, pitifully.
"A question Optimus, that you will take to your grave." I sneered at him. I rose my blade up and was about to strike the weak Prime down, but then I saw a ground bridge open, and then WAM. I was knocked away from Optimus. I looked at my attacker, and it was that lowly Wrecker, Bulkhead. He didn't let me retain my ground though, as he kept striking me. Dents in my metal, but he could pack a punch. My body was slowly getting damaged by the Wrecker's strikes. I regained my ground quickly though, I caught the Wrecker's arm an

I'm also adding an extra week to plan for my next contest. I'll probably save it for New Years but this will give time for development.

All I can tell you for right now is that it's going to be called the "Donatello Diversity" contest and it will be my first one that requires some work to be done. I just need to iron everything out.

canned panda monster [link]

1) What is the subject in this piece? (It can be anything or a number of things) It's a canned panda monster from my 'canned monsters series'.

2) What was your drive for creating this piece? Pandas are my favorite animals and my art always has a tinge of dark in it so it was only a matter of time before a canned panda monster is created by me.

3) Tell me all about how you created this deviation- I was bored at work one day so I sketched this in my sketch pad. It sat there for 6 years. then one day, I got on the computer and painted it digitally.

4) What do you like/dislike about this piece? I would like for it to be darker. What I like about it is it came out exactly as I imagined it- every pixel, every color. I love when that happens. It's such a wonderful high to see your imagination come to life right in front of you. To see that panda staring back at me, was damn awesome.

5) How long did you work on this? i probably worked on this for 2 days, 3 hours a day. i don't like hurrying my creative process. :meditate:

Gah! So glad I found this contest. :) It's definitely different from most I've seen.

[link]

1) What is the subject in this piece? Literally? myself. The real subject at hand, however, is the demon inside each and every one of us, how it can at times blind or deafen us from the truth, and manipulate us into making the wrong decisions. Often through no fault of our own.
2) What was your drive for creating this piece? I've had the idea to create something with this concept behind it for a while. At first I thought of something crawling out of my closet, to play on the saying 'skellingtons in my closet', however after playing around with the idea and method behind it, I found this to be much better. Less is more.
3) Tell me all about how you created this deviation. I got new white mesh contact lenses in the mail recently - So it's not a manip. If you click on 'Download Image' you can actually see the tiny holes in the lenses where you can see through. - And I set up the light nearby the camera, having put on my long brunette wig beforehand since I felt as though my rainbow hair would distract from the message. At first I was going for a really haunting image, where I was just staring straight forward down the lense. After some experimenting with poses, I realized that a lot of people who are mentally ill, aka have more powerful demons inside themselves, often complain of 'hearing voices'. Out popped this beauty! After the photo was taken, I darkened the background, retouched it a little here and there, then applied a colour filter and an extra layer on top to get that dark scratchy look.
4) What do you like/dislike about this piece? I like that it's very haunting to most of the people I've spoken to about it. It portrays the message without getting too complicated. - What I don't like about it is the fact I'm wearing my ring, as once again I feel it distracts. I should pay more attention to the fine details in future.
5) How long did you work on this? In total, including editing, a couple of hours. - If you include the planning from the moment the idea was born, then days, even weeks maybe. The physical process was definitely a few hours at most, however.

Wow, I found this contest just in time for my newest deviation. Is it okay if I enter now?
Using my most recent one because most of the stuff I have was drawn in middle school, which I don't have a very clear memory of... While I like some of them, it'd feel like I was doing the contest for someone else
[link]
1) The subject is me! It's a self portrait
2) I was just messing around with a silly sketch of me. I decided to upload it so I'd have some sort of landmark of my skills after being inactive for so long.
3) Well, it started out as a silly request from a friend. The original turned out really funny. I decided to upload it onto my computer, but I forgot I'm not good with software. I ended up saving it as a monochrome bitmap. The way I shaded looked cool after conversion, but after fixing some anatomical flaws, it just didn't look right, so I just tried to make it look finished.
4) I really like how my nose turned out. Noses can be really hard to draw. I don't feel like I got the perspective quite right, though. There are still some flaws to work out. Like how I got rid of most of my funny face, but I couldn't fix my eyes. So I kind of look a little condescending. It's part of the residual creepiness that the original bitmap contained, I suppose.
5) With shenanigans included, probably about 2 hours. It's not a very complicated picture.

1. What is the subject in this piece?
My characters Oracia and Mukami.
2. What was your drive for creating this piece?
I wanted to make something strange for Christmas and I thought demonic hair hugging and holding up a mistletoe was hilarious and could pass as a Christmas inspired picture.
3. How did you create this piece?
I sketched out Oracia and then Mukami and because I hadn't finished putting Oracia's hair where I wanted I began making it look like it was restraining Mukami. I went over it in pen and got a strand of Oracia's hair to hold the mistletoe and sketched that out and went over that with pen. (It was my first time drawing them so) I debated on their hair colors and decided to have Mukami with brown hair and Oracia with brown hair. But then I was afraid with all the brown it might look like Mukami's hair was hugging himself so I gave her pink hair. I colored in with squiggles because I liked how it made the picture look like it "sparkled", or at least to me, and that was all.
4. What do you like or dislike about this picture?
This picture is why Oracia's hair is pink in all my other pictures of her. I made her with the intention of staying away from having pink anything and then I made her hair pink. So, basically I dislike the fact that this paved the way for the start off of my gallery to be smothered with pink. Another thing I didn't like was that I didn't know how Mukami's eyes looked but I knew they'd be whatever color I felt like (his eyes can be yellow or blue or whatever color) What I do like is that the picture itself is very hilarious. I enjoy and love everything about this even with the pink in this picture but in the end I am very proud of it. :)
5. It took me about a day which was pretty fast. The ink dried so that helped speed up the process because I don't like blurred ink.
